How to boost a post on LinkedIn

LinkedIn is a powerful business tool, but it can be tough to grow your audience. Boosting can turn an organic LinkedIn post into a paid advert to get more attention. To boost, you’ll need content admin access status for the post you wish to highlight, to get started.

What posts can I boost?

Not all posts can be boosted. Pick one that has better than average engagement in terms of comments, likes and shares.

Choose an objective

To help LinkedIn tailor your advertised post, select your aim from a list that includes video views, awareness, website visits or engagement.

Who is your target audience?

You can target your ad to a specific audience by adding attributes of LinkedIn profile users. Choose location, job function, industry and level of seniority.

Setting budget and payments

Work out how much you can spend on advertising your post and then add your payment card details.

Measure the performance of your post

Now that your LinkedIn post has been converted into an advert with a boost, you can track its performance. To access informative metrics and gain insights, simply click where it says “manage ads” in the original boosted post. This will open the “Campaign Manager”. Alternatively, you can expand the window beneath the post to find both promoted and organic metrics to view any increase in engagement.
